Martini And Its 3 Weight Loss And Health Benefits

October 27, 2013 by Janey Danes Leave a Comment

Is drinking a Martini healthy? What Martini benefits you must know?

Who doesn’t like to drink a Martini? This colorless, odorless liquid is surely a popular cocktail drink among cocktail lovers. But did you know that it has health benefits?

Surprisingly, yes.

This favorite drink comes with benefits, as long as it’s not wheatgrass juice. But, no matter how beneficial it is to your health, it’s not an excuse for you to drink a glass or two if you’re pregnant or suffering from a certain medical condition.

Even though it does have health benefits, you must know that moderation is still the key here. And before you mix some ingredients, make sure that you’ve consulted your doctor before drinking it.

Editor’s Note: Enjoying a classic cocktail is less about the calories and more about the ritual. By applying the same principles found in our Ultimate Guide to Mindful Eating, you can learn to appreciate the botanical notes of the gin and the crispness of the vermouth, turning a simple drink into a practice of presence.

Here’s a list of some of the health benefits that Martini can offer you.

1. Reduces stress

Just like any other alcoholic drink, this one offers relaxation effects. But these effects have been studied and published in the Journal of Psychopharmacology. According to that document, this drink could reduce stress more effectively than red wine.

2. Offers a Cure for everything

According to Russian folklore, this drink became popular because of its ability to cure almost everything, from headaches to hangovers to the common cold. Herbalists even use it to make tinctures.

They soak the stems, flowers, and leaves of certain herbs in this type of drink to extract volatile essential oils, which can be used as a medicine. Because Martini is odorless and flavorless, it takes the flavor of the herbs.

3. Offers weight loss benefits

It is a low-calorie drink, which is a great choice if you’re trying to lose weight. An ounce of it is only 64 calories and has no carbohydrates.

Don’t consume it with beer, which has more than 100 calories per serving.

The versatility of Martini makes it easier for people to mix it with creamy liquors and sugary juices. If you do this, you can add hundreds of calories to a low-calorie drink, which negates its benefits.

But, no matter how beneficial this drink is, you should still be drinking it moderately.

However, the question now is how moderate is moderate?

One drink is considered a moderate amount. But that one drink means 1.5 ounces. Drinking it before a meal is said to enhance digestion or soothe someone’s mood after a very stressful day. And if you have an occasional drink with your friends, it can be considered as a social tonic. These physical and psychic effects are obviously beneficial to your health and well-being.

However, drinking Martini and other alcoholic drinks may block folate absorption. Keep in mind that this important nutrient is important in women’s health. If you take it regularly, you may increase your risk of developing certain cancers.

Although it has several benefits, you must also weigh its risks.

It can be a healthy drink, but it may increase your risk of having cancer and other debilitating health conditions.

If heart disease runs in your family, you might consider Martini as a great way to avoid visiting a cardiologist.

But before you consider changing your diet and start drinking this liquor, you should consider asking your doctor. Or perhaps, you just have to consider drinking a healthy chocolate shake with a high amount of vitamins and minerals.
